HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/18/1972 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesDecember 18, 1972 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Lannoye. Present were Councilmen D.M. McNeill, Ed Rich, Doug Hanna, Cliff Tvedten, Arnold Stevens; Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were annroved as read. The bills were presented to the Council as follows: Current Expense nos. 4697 - 4707 Charles Kay Walker Charles S. Syring Errol P. Downs Dennis Alan Mengelos Dorotha McGee Herbert J. Olive John C. Carlson Pedco Credit Union Wm. M. Hamilton Dorotha McGee Mott W. Liek Street warrant no. 1323 Mott W. Liek U.A.B. warrants nos. 172 - 173 Arden France Albert & Arlene Howell Cliff Tvedten moved that the bills and passed unanimously. $558.88 438.17 458.88 452.80 214.02 40.00 202.52 25.00 153.31 350.47 10.74 544.55 450.00 1.00 be paid; seconded by Ed Rich Mayor Lannoye presented Ordinance No. 185. Said Ordinance sets employees salaries for the year 1973. D.M. McNeill moved to approve and pass Ordinance No. 185; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed by a unanimous vote. 1 After a discussion Council members set Wednesday, January 3, 1973 as the date for the first regular meeting of 1973. Motion to set said date made by Doug Hanna,seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. Mayor Lannoye presented costs from contractors and cooling the new City Court room. Prices as Central Electric - 200 AMP wiring Leon E. Harden - 200 AMP wiring Leon E. Harden - 250 AMP wiring Burns Htg. & Air Cond. Gas heat & Air Far West Mechanical Heat & Aid Cond. for wiring, heating follows: 1962.40 1300.00 1500.00 Cond. 1850.00 + tax for City Hall & Squad room Electric Furnace Electric Air Cond. New Court Room Electric Furnace Electric Air Cond, B'risbine Electris was contacted, but did not on this project. 913,00 562.00 1053.00 737.00 with to submit a price 1 D M. McNeill moved to approve the cost as submitted by Central Electric for the wiring; seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. Arnold Stevens moved to accept the price submitted for heating & ' air conditioning by Burns Htg. & Air Conditioning Co.; motion seconded by Ed Rich and passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor Lannoye reported that the City has received $6,006.00 from the Federal Government as the first portion of Federal Revenue sharing. Other funds will be received from this source in 1973. After a discussion; the Council decided to use these funds for the following projects: Floor insulate and heat the shop building $29500.00 Street flusher 6,500.00 Dump truck with angle blade 4,000.00 Upgrade Simon Street 11000.00 and if funds are available, a fire alarm system 4:000.00 D.M. McNeill moved to approve above projects; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor Lannoye reported that Errol Downs will be leaving the City Police force about January 1, 1973. A discussion was held regarding the hiring of another officer. No action was taken on the proposed contract for yearly service on the copy machine.
