HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/6/1972 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesNovember 6, 1972 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye; Present were Councilmen Doug I Hanna, Cliff Tvedten, Ed Rich, Arnold Stevens; Attnrney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Road Dept. 47.35 S & D Paving Co., Inc. 267.75 Doug Hanna moved that the bills be paid; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed unanimously. Mayor Lannoye read the resignation of Councilman Art O'Neal. Doug Hanna moved to accept said resignation with regrets; seconded by Ed Rich and passed by a unanimous vote. The Mayor, Council and City Attorney discussed the proposed ordinance regulating parking for the purpose of snow removal. The Clerk was instructed to include this item on agenda for the next meeting. A Resolution to amend the 6 year street program will also be presented at the next meeting. Mayor Lannoye and the Council discussed the matter of a blue light and a crystal for the radio. The Mayor will try to locate a used light and report at the next meeting. Holiday pay for Police officers was discussed. Council agreed that Officers will be granted a day of vacation for each legal holiday, Mayor Lannoye presented the Health District assessment for 1973. Arnold Stevens moved that said agreement be approded; seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. The Mayor and Council discussed the forthcoming tax sale on a parcel of property in the name of the Hamilton Development Co., and is a portion of a city street. Mayor Lannoye was authorized to attend the sale and to bid $52.07 for the city. Mayor Lannoye read a letter from Larry Mathews regarding placement of stop signs at llth and 1"lain Sts, and llth and Baker Sts. The Council decided to take no action at this time. Mayor Lannoye stated that Games Ruble and Darrell McNeill have indicated willingness to serve on the City Council. He appreciates their offer of service, but no action was taken by the Council at this time. Cliff Tvedten moved that the meeting be adjourned; seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. Mayor Clerk
