The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Ed Rich,
Doug Hanna, Cliff Tvedten, Arnold Stevens and Clerk Dorotha McGee. '
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows:

Ed Rich moved that the bills be paid; seconded by Doug Hanna and
passed unanimously.
Mayor Lannoye stated that the Battermann Engineering Co. bid did
not include the black top repair on Ramaker Way. Prices will be
obtained from J.N. Vail Ho. and S and D Paving Co.
Mayor Lannoye reported that a walk for retarded children will be
held November 11, 1972. The East Wenatchee Police Dept. will patrol
to insure the safety of persons involved.
The Clean Sweep Co. presented prices for sweeping the City streets.
After a discussion, the Council decided to table this matter.
Mayor Lannoye reported that he has received complaints on junk cars
at French & Standerfer streets. The Clerk was instructed to notify
the Police Dept.
The Mayor and Council instructed the Clerk to increase the insurance
of the City Hall building to $10,000.00 and contents to $3,000.00.
The Clerk was instructed to issue a business license to the Merchant
Police with the provision that all Merchant Policemen be introduced
to the members of the East Wenatchee Poliee Dept. '
Mayor Lannoye presented the Preliminary Budget for 1973 to the
Council. Doug Hanna moved to approve the budget as presented;
seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
Mr. warnett told the Council that parking on Ashland Street causes a
problem with snow removal. He requested parking be controlled to
permit snow removal. The City Attorney will prepare an Ordinance
' regulating parking for the purpose of snow removal.
A citizen proposes to open an appliance store in the Doneen Bldg. at
the corner of 9th and Main St. He requested a loading zone be
established from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After a discussion, the
Council was not in favor of said zone.

The Mayor and Council discussed the need for obtaining an additional
truck to haul snow. Mayor Lannoye will advertise in the newspaper
for a truck. Ed Rich stated that he wanted snow removal started
when the snow begins to fall.
Doug Hanna moved that the meeting be adjourned; seconded by Arnold
Stevens and passed by a unanimous Vote.
