HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/2/1972 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesOctober 2, 1972 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Art ' O'Neal, Doug Hanna, Cliff Tvedten, Ed Rich, Arnold Stevens; Attorney John Carlson, Cliff Hahn and Clerk Dorotha McGee. Mayor Lannoye introduced Mrs. Chris Haight and Cary Ordway to the City Council. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Art O'Neal moved that the bills be passed unanimously. 10.08 1.31 64.24 203.36 32.06 44.09 32.22 16.73 3.93 20.00 4.98 paid; seconded by Ed Rich and Mayor Lannoye reported the Pontiac has been sold for $362.00. After a discussion the Council members decided to insure the Dodge Police car with $100.00 deductible collision insurance at the cost of $56.20 per year. Mayor Lannoye reported that the Annual Association of Washington Cities meeting will be held at Chelan on October 10, 1972. Council members Ed Rich, Cliff Tvedten and Doug Hanna indicated they would attend with Mayor tannoye. John Carlson will also attend. Mayor Lannoye presented Resolution No. 1041 to the Council. Said resolution declares an emergency exists and increases the Police Dept. ' budget for 1972 in the amount of $21,042.00 in revenue and disbursements. Ed Rich moved to approve and pass Resolution no. 1041; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor Lannoye reported that the East Wenatchee Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on October 4; 1972 at the hour of 6:00 p.r¢. Fire Chief Bob Derry explained to the Mayor and Council, the new fire prevention program made possible by additional employees hired through the E.E.A. program. He hopes to obtain a lower fire rating for the City by inspections planned by the fire district. Mayor Lannoye expressed appreciation to Chief Derry for this program and for the use of the fire pumper truck used by the City for the clean up of the parking l t after the recent flood. Mr. James Ruble discussed with City Officials a runoff problem that has occured on his property after raising his garage due to the Baker Street project. Mayor Lannoye will request Mr. Eason to check this. Ed Rich moved to adjourn; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed by a unanimous vote. ' Mayor Clerk
