HomeMy WebLinkAbout5/15/1972 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesMay 15, 1972 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Art O'Neal ' Doug Hanna Arnold Stevens, Ed Rich; John Carlson Clerk Dorotha McGee, and Chief 61iff Hahn. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council as follows: Current expense warrants nos. 4367 - 4378 Clifford E. Hahn $575.14 Charles Kay Walker 527.98 Joe H. Carl 517.17 Michael Leo Schneider 378.21 Dennis Alan Mengelos 378.94 Dorotha McGee 214.02 Herbert J. Olive 40.00 John C. Carlson 204.85 Pedco Credit Union 25.00 Wm. M. Hamilton 159.15 Dorotha McGee 352.10 Mott W. Liek 11.55 Street warrant no. 1237 Mott W. Liek 545.37 Arnold Stevens moved that the bills be paid; seconded by "rt O'Neal and passed unanimously. ' Doug Hanna reported that he believes three street lights are missing on Baker street. Mayor Lannoye stated others were also out. Arnold Stevens reported that the Health District has received an additional $18,000.00 from T.B. funds. The Health District has informed the Mayor that the City has a potential mesquito breeding area. This problem has been corrected. Ed Rich stated that he had contacted the State Highway Dept. regarding moving the city limits sign. Mr. Putnam requested the use of the City Park, June 4, 1972 for a 4 H Club dog show. Arnold Stevens moved use of the park be allowed; motion withdrawn. Mr. O'Neal granted use of the City Park for this purpose. Mayor Lannoye stated that the Attorney has forwarded a request to Humble Oil co. for additional right-of-way on Rock Island Road. A discussion was held regarding purchase of lockers for the Poli e Dept. Purchase of said lockers was approved. Mayor Lannoye reported receiving complaints of horses on 13th st. causing damage to property. Mayor Lannoye and the Council members commended the Police Dept. for their work during the Apple Blossom festival.
