HomeMy WebLinkAbout3/19/1973 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesMarch 19, 1973 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Cliff ' Tvedten, Darrell McNeill, Ed Rich, Doug Hanna; Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council Current expense warrants nos. 4840 - Charles Kay Walker Dennis A. Memgelos Clifford Eugend Hahn Charles S. Syring Robert A. Kinkade Dorotha McGee Herbert J. Olive John C. Carlson (no warrant) Wm. M. Hamilton Pedco Credit Union Dorotha McGee Mott W. Liek Street warrants nos. 1363 - 1364 Northwest Motor Freight Mott W. Liek U.A.B. warrant no. 177 Transamerica Title Ins. Co. Doug Hanna moved that the bills be and passed unanimously, as follows: 4850 $598.16 514.85 690.52 506.32 432.27 254.25 40.00 350,00 213.31 50.00 342.94 192.09 6.85 394.17 3.00 paid; seconded by Cliff Tvedten A discussion was held regarding the broken street light on Baker St. Valley Electric will in"stall a luminar for 36.00 plus tax. Doug Hanna will check with the P.U.D. for costs if light is replaced by that agency. Mayor Lannoye opened bids for the 4th street project. Bids were submitted as follows: S & D Paving - 7490.00 material and labor according to specs. Morrill Asphalt 9:200.00 material and labor according to specs. Engineers estimate for said project is 9,871.70 including guard rails luminars and posts. Guard rails are to be installed by the city. Ed Rich moved to accept the bid submitted by S & D Paving; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed unanimously. Mayor Lannoye read prices as submitted by Kundert Floor covering, Roger Thompson, Norris Floor Covering and Sav-I'iart, for carpet for the new Court room. After a discussion, it was decided that the city will send a representative to inspect all carpets and sdbmit a recommendation for purchase at the next meeting. Dean,Morgan, representing Carmichael Const. Co. inquired as to the ' City s plans to upgrade Simon Street. Simon street is approximately 980 feet in length in the city limits. Sidewalks and curdswill cost approximately 5.00 to 6.00 per foot.
