HomeMy WebLinkAbout1/15/1973 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesJanuary 15, 1973 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Cliff Tvedten, ' Doug Hanna, Darre 11 McNeill, Ed Rich, Arnold Stevens; Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council as follows: Current Expense warrants nos. 4747 - 4758 Charles Kay Walker $598.16 Dennis Alan Mengelos 514.85 Dorotha McGee 254.25 Charles S. Syring 506.32 Robert A. Kinkade- 432.27 Clifford Eugene Hahn 690.52 John C. Carlson 295.04 Herbert J. Olive 40.00 Pedco Credit Union 50.00 Wm. M. Hamilton 213.31 Dorotha McGee 342.94 Mott W. Liek 182.83 Street Warrants nos. 1343 Mott W. Liek 384.90 Darrell McNeill moved that the bills be paid; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed unanimously. Police Patrolman Trainee Robert Kinkade was introduced to the Council ' members by Charles Walker. Darrell McNeill reported on his visit to the school to talk to the third grade students and presented letters he has received from them. Mayor Lannoye presented Resolution no. 1043 to the Council. Said resolution designates 4th street to Baker and that portion of Baker street within the city limits as a secondary arterial street. Ed Rich moved to pass resolution no. 1043; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed by a unanimous vote. Doug Hanna will confer with shopping center officials regarding street lighting that will be needed on 4th street. Mayor Lannoye reported that the Civil Service Hearing in the matter of the dismissal of Clifford Hahn has been set for February 8, 1973 at 1:30 pm. He recuests Councilmen present at the meeting held the day before the dismissal, to be present at the Civil Service Hearing. Civil Service records are available to the Council members at the City Hall. Mayor Lannoye stated that the 1972 Dodge Police car is using oil excessively and the front end is out of alignment. Numerous repairs ' have been made at city expense. These repairs to the motor and front end should have been made by the dealer under the 5,000 mile guarantee Valley Auto was contacted, but took no action.
