HomeMy WebLinkAbout9/17/1973 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesSeptember 17, 19731 The regular meeting of the East csenatchee City Council was convened 'with the following persons present; Councilmen Doug Hanna, Cliff Tvedten, Ed Rich, Ray Duncan, Darrell McNeill and Clerk Dorotha McGee. Doug Hanna made a motion that Cliff Tvedten serve as Mayor Pro tem; seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. 1 1 The bills were presented to Current expense warrants Charles Kay Walker Dennis Alan Mengelos Dorotha McGee Charles S. Syring Robert A. Kinkade Herbert J. Olive John C. Carlson(for posting only) Pedco Credit Union Wm. M. Hamilton Dorotha McGee Mott W. Liek Street warrant no. 1428 Mott W. Liek Ed Rich moved that the bills passed by a unanimous vote. the Council as follows: nos. 5115 - 5124 $598.16 514.85 254.25 442.27 432.27 40,00 350.00 50.00 213.31 342.94 192.09 394.17 be paid; seconded by Doug }canna and Councilman Rich presented the bids for the shop floor as received: O.A. Jones, $1,487.50 includes sales tax; Battermann Eng. & Const. Co. Inc, $1,664.40 does not include sales tax. Ray Duncan moved to accept the bid of O.A. Jones in the amount of 61,487.50; motion seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. Ed Rich moved to approve and pass Ordinance No. 190. Said ordinance sets the ad valorem tax for the year 1974 at 7.5 mills, amount to be collected is $36,628.18; motion seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously. Doug Hanna moved that t'.e P.U.D. be contacted regarding the possibility of turning off the street lights on the east side of Baker street during the power crisis; seconded by Ed Rich and passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor Pro-tem Tvedten reported that Attorney John Carlson has arrived at a sbttlement with the Guardian Life Insurance Co. in the matter of the policy carried by the city on Clifford Hahn, and a check for w2,140.00 has been received by the city.
