HomeMy WebLinkAbout7/16/1973 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesJuly 16, 1973 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called ' to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Doug Hanna, Ed Rich, Darrell McNeill; Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council as follows: Current expense warrants nos. 5028 - 5042 Dennis Mengelos $ 9.06 Kinkade's Acme Cleaners 30,30 Truck Insurance Exchange 1,486.30 John C. Carlson 849.50 General Wholesale Products 225.50 Charles Kay Walker 598,16 Dennis Alan Mengelos 514.85 Dorotha McGee 254.25 Charles S. Syring 442.27 Robert Alvin Kinkade 432.27 Herbert J. Olive 40.00 Pedco Credit Union 50.00 Wm. M. Hamilton 213.31 Dorotha McGee 342.94 Mott W. Liek 192.09 Street warrant no. 1412 ' Mott W. Liek Darrell McNeill moved that the bills be 394.17 paid; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously. Darrell McNeill reported that the Salmon Barbecue will be held in the City park on July 29, 1973. Mayor Lannoye reported that a portion of the sidewalk on Simon Street has been broken, and the contractor has been requested to make the necessary repairs. The Clerk was instructed to with -hold the 'valance of 10% payment until satisfactory repairs have been made. Mayor Lannoye presented the resignation of Councilman Arnold Stevens. Doug Hanna moved to accept said resignation; seconded by Ed Rich and passed by a unanimous vote. The Mayor presented Resolution No. 1045 to the Council members. Said Resolution would adopt the Douglas County Solid Waste Plan, by the City. Doug Hanna moved to adopt Resolution no. 1045; motion seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. The City Attorney will advise the Clerk if and when a public hearing is necessary for this matter. A discussion was held regarding the proposition by Douglas County that the City become a part of the Douglas County Parks and Recrea- tion Service area, and the amount that would he paid by the City for swimming pool construction.
