The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Ray
Duncan, Doug Hanna, Cliff Tvedten; Attorney John Carlson and
Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows:

Doug Hanna moved that the bills be paid;
and passed by a unanimous vote.

Doug Hanna reported that the street light on pole no. 85 has been
removed.
Cliff Tvedten moved that the ci�,y accept as completed, the street
improvement project on French, amilton and Standerfer streets;
and pay the 10% of funds withheld; motion seconded by Ray Duncan
and passed unanimously,

Mayor Lannoye reported that a vacancy exists on the Board of Adjust-
ment since Dr. Morrison has moved from the area. He requested
the Council+s approval for the appointment of Monte Olson to fulfill
the unexpired term. Doug Hanna moved to approve said appointment;
seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously. The Clerk was instructed
to send a letter of appreciation to Dr. Morrison.
A letter was received from the Mayor of Okanogan stating the Association
of Washington Cities annual meeting will be held at Okanogan on
September 30, 1974.
Three Cub Scouts, represented by James Roberts spoke to the Mayor
and Council on the care of the flag. James Roberts requested '
permission to raise and lower the flag in the City Parking lot.
Doug Hanna moved to approve said request; seconded by Cliff Tvedten
and passed by a unanimous vote.
This group also requested that the City purchase a new flag. Mayor
Lannoye commended the Scouts and parents for their attitude toward
' the flag.
The Mayor reported that he has requested S & D Paving Co. to begin
work on the sidewalk and water retainer on 4th Street. This is to
be completed as soon as possible.

John Carlson explained on possible action the city could take on
taxing punchboards and pulltabs. Mayor Lannoye will inquire what
other cities are doing, at the Association of Washington Cities
meetin -.
John Carlson reported that the hearing on the Rich matter has been
scheduled for sometime in October. He will call the Association of
Washington Cities regarding legal aid on this matter.
Cliff Tvedten moved to adjourn; seconded by Ray Duncan amd passed
by a unanimous vote.
