HomeMy WebLinkAbout8/5/1974 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesAugust 5, 1974 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Doug Hanna, Ray Duncan, Darrell McNeill, Ed Rich and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. ' The Mayor reported that the trees in the park need to be sprayed. After a discussion, Darrell McNeill was authorized to contact two local firms for costs involved to have the spray applied by a commercial spray co. Mayor Lannoye appointed Herb Olive to represent the city at a meeting called for the purpose of discussing the proposed use of the old bridge for a bicycle path. Three bids for the street sander were received and presented to the Council as follows: Andrews Equipment Service - 64,289.27 delivery 120 days; Sahlberg Equipment Co. - $4,670.92 delivery 150 days; and Rowand Machinery Co. - 894,318.25 delivery 90-120 days. After a discussion, Ray Duncan moved to accept the bid of Andrews Equipment Service in the amount of $4,289.27; motion seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. The matter of a sidewalk on 4th street was discussed. It was decided that an asphaltic sidewalk 4 feet wide and 3-4 inches high was needed and could be used for a sidewalk and water retainer. Doug Hanna made a motion that the Mayor be authorized to negotiate with S & D Paving 0o. for this project; seconded by Ed Rich and passed by a unanimous vote. ' Mayor Lannoye reported he has reached a favorable agreement with the P.U.D. on undergrounding. The Shopping Center is presently served by underground wires and other businesses located near the vaults will be served at P.U.D. cost. The Mayor stated that he has received a call from the Douglas County Prosecutor on the Hahn matter. Clifford Hahn has requested the city pay transportation costs to Seattle for bim, so that he can consult a psychiatrist. This matter will be discussed with John Carlson. Darrell McNeill moved that the meeting be adjourned; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously. mayor = er
