The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Ray '
Duncan, Cliff Tvedten, Darrell McNeill, Doug Hanna, Ed Rich;
Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows:

Cliff Tvedten moved that the bills be paid; seconded by Doug Hanna
and passed unanimously.
After a discussion, the Council members decided that no new hats
would be purchased by the Police Department.
Mayor Lannoye informed those present that a representative would
be here on Wednesday, Debruary 19th for the purpose of demonstrating
a radar unit to City officials.
The City Attorney was requested to prepare a contract for the City
and Douglas County Fire District No. 2, and a contract with Wenatchee
Police Dept, for telephone and dispatch service.
A discussion was held on a proposed inventory of amusement devices,
by the Police Dept. It was the unanimous agreement by the Council
members that these items should be inventoried quarterly.
Mayor Lannoye reported that the city pays for 3 street lights on
Baker street in an area located in the county. John Carlson stated
the city was justified in keeping the lights as the road was hazzard-
ous and the lights were needed in the shopping center area.
The Mayor reported that the sander had arrived, but the screen is '
not as required in the specifications, and the equipment has been
damaged in shipment. The Clerk was instructed to contact Andrews
nEquipment Co. regarding the screen and Jimmy Smith is to contact
the Freight Co. regarding the damage.

Mayor Lannoye stated that a Public Hearing would now be held on
the Bolinger -Simon Annexation. John Carlson presented and read,
to those present, Ordinance no. 206, relating to the approval and
acceptance of the annexation. After a discussion with persons
attending the meeting, Doug Hanna moved that the City approve and
adopt Ordinance No. 206; motion seconded by Darrell McNeill and
passed by a unanimous vote.

Mr. Spencer Bready stated that he feels the City should have a
pepresentative present at the annexation information meeting to
be held February 19th. Mayor Lannoye lead a discussion on this
subject.
The Mayor requested the Council members to study the proposal
that the City join the recreation district, and possibly call for
an election this fall at the next regular city election.
Darrell McNeill moved that the meeting be adjourned; seconded by
Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
