The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Doug
Hanna, Ray Duncan, Ed Rich, Darrell McNeill; Attorney John Carlson
and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The bills were presented as follows:

Doug Hanna moved that the bills be paid with the exception of the
bill for Thomas Warren; seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
' A Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation preceedings by Myron
Bolinger was presented to the Council. Said petition was signed
by Myron Bolinger, owner of in excess of 10% of the assessed
valuation of area requesting annexation. At 8:30 p.m. a meeting
was held for the purpose of discussing the three following items:
(3) Darrell McNeill moved that the City accept the amnexation;
seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously.
(2) Zoning - North of Simon street end:extensiob-of1Simon street
to Highline Canal is Commercial zone; South of extension of Simon
Street to Highline Canal will be zoned Surburban residential all as
set forth in Ordinances No. 129 and 138.
(1) City has no existing indebtedness.
Darrell McNeill reported that he has contacted the Chamber of
Commerce with regards to the Chamber erecting a sign directing
traffic to the City parking lot. He also stated that more parking
area would be available if the fence at the end of the park was
removed and that area blacktopped. The Council members agreed
this project should be completed.
Mayor Lannoye reported that the delivery date for the dander is
now January 15, 1975,
The Mayor, Council and Bob Derry discussed the fire contract as
proposed by the Fire District, and fire inspections. The Mayor
and Council opposed the regulation of sale of fireworks by the
Fire District. All agreed that this paragraph could be deleted.
City Council members feel the City should pay for fire protection
based on the assesded valuation. , and were not in favor of the
Gity assuming obligations for any bond issue of the Fire District
without permission of the City Council.
The new building codes were discussed., The Mayor stated that he
feels the fees for permits are too high. Bob Derry said that the
Fire Dept. will try to make fire inspections.
Charles Walker reported his findings on the persons, locally emp-
loyed, who are parking on Main St. Art Johnson and Dennis Irish
also discussed the parking probleip/.
Mayor Lannoye reported that Wenatchee Police Dept. will charge the
City $200.00 per month for telephone and dispatching services.
Doug Hanna moved that the meeting be adjourned; seconded by Ray
Duncan and passed by a unanimous vote.
