Ms. Dorotha McGee
City Clerk
City Hall
East Wenatchee, Washington 98801
Dear Ms. McGee:
RICHARD L. HUSK
ASSISTANT STATE AUDITOR
In response to your written inquiry of October 22, 1975,
we wish to advise that the demolished police car you referred to
may be disposed of in any manner deemed appropriate by your city
council. There are no statutory regulations pertaining to the dis-
position of personal property which is of no further value to any-
one except for salvagable and usable parts.
As a matter of prudent business practice, however, it might
be advisable to try and secure one or two additional informal offers
from other wrecking yards in the Wenatchee area in order to feel
assured that you are receiving a fair price. When a decision is
made, we suggest it be officially acted upon, by motion, and be
recorded in the Minutes of the council meeting. The proceeds derived
from this sale should be credited to the Current Expense Fund.
Sincerely,
ROBERT V. GRAHAM, State Auditor
