Home My WebLink About9/15/1975 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesSeptember 15, 1975 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Ray Duncan, Doug Hanna, Darrell McNeill; Ed Rich; Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The Public Hearing on the proposed annexation was continued at this time. Ed Rich requested the City Attorney to report his findings on the legal description. John Carlson explained that the inacc- uracies were small; he feels the description was valid and would sustain a challange in court; however he has prepared a corrected description. He also stated that the Council may delete any part of the described property from the annexation. The following persons who identified themselves, spoke to those present: Mr. Ken Goedde, Mr. Hu Slonk, Mrs. Ralph Aiken, Mr. John Whipple, Mrs. Liv Shivley, Donald Wall, Mrs. Kane, Mrs. Margaret Rankin, Mr. Dave White, Charles Walker and Councilmen Darrell McNeill, Doug Hanna and Ray Duncan. Mr. Hu Blonk read a statement to the Council regarding the inaccuracy in the legal advertising. John Carlson told those present that the area included in the proposed annexation would be coned R-1 residential, upon annexation. After a discussion, Council members expressed their desire to eliminate an island area that would be created if the now proposed descr- iption is followed. Ray Duncan moved that the City re -draw the lines of the proposed annexation to eliminate 15th Street east from Devon Ave; with a vote to be taken at the next meeting; motion seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
