The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Doug
Hanna, Ray Duncan, Darrell 'McNeill, Ed Rich, Cliff T.vedten; Attorney
'
John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were
approved as read.

Ray Duncan moved that the bills be paid
with the exception of the
bills for Highways Safety Products and
Andrews Equipment Service;
motion seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed
unanimous vote.
Mrs. Virginia Palmgren introduced Mrs. Carl Fugitt, Vice President of
the Siroptomist Club to the Mayor & Council. With regards to their
presence, Mayor Lannoye proclaimed this year as International Womens
Y-ear.
'Doug Hanna reported that the P.U.D. was experiencing problems with
dndergrounding in the vicinity of the Bank, but has been able to
repair the three street lights that were out.
John Carlson reported that he has not received a reply from Mr. Rovang
regarding the weed spray.
Mayor Lannoye suggested that the costs of permits for opening the
streets be increased. After a discussion the Council requested John
Carlson to prepare an amendment to Ordinance No. 126 with the costs
to be increased as follows: $10.00 for opening fee and additional
50 cents per foot for the 1st 50 feet and 25 cents per foot for each
additional foot. Repairs on street were to be guaranteed for 3 years.
The insurance underwriter has notified the Council that it will not
be able to write Errors & Omissions insurance for Herb Olive and Don
Whitaker. Council approved purchase of said coverage for the City
Attorney, Police Judge and Court Clerk.
Mayor Lannoye reported that he has received a letter from Center
investments regarding the swimming pool issue.
Cliff Tvedten reported that a car for the Police Dept. could be
purchased for 1,750.00 + tax. Cliff Tvedten made a motion to declare
'the Plymouth Car surplus, to call for bids to sell it and to purchase
the car under discussion; motion seconded by Doug Hanna and passed
by a unanimous vote.
