The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by
Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Darrell McNeill,
Ray Duncan, Cliff Tvedten, Ed Rich, Doug Hanna and Clerk Dorotha
McGee,
Jeam Smith, chairman of the Douglas County Park Board introduced
members of the Park Board to the Mayor & Council. A discussion
was held regarding the matter of the City joining the East Wenatchee
Service Area. Mayor Lannoye.requested that local citizens contact
City Councilmen for the purpose of informing City Officials how
the local taxpayers feel about this matter. The news media was
also requested to help in notifing the: public.
Tandy Campfire Girls Group and leaders Barbara Carroll and Jean
Buntzler presented a desk plaque and a cake to the Mayor. Mayor
Lannoye issued a proclamation in honor of Campfire Girls birthday
week.

Doug Hanna moved that the bills be: paid; with payment made to Young's
Automotive under protest; seconded by Ray Duncan $n.d passed by a
unanimous vote.
Ed Rich reported that the: Grants allocated for street stripping were
for streets which had not been previously stripped.
Mayor Lannoye reported that he and the: Clerk had spent several hours
with Bill Deweert preparing applications for federal grants for
street projects; Main Street, Rock Island Road and 9th street.
Mayor Lannoye proclaimed the week of March. 21 — 31st as Natiokal
Gaurd Observation week.

The City Council authorized the park department to purchase 4 bags
of fertilizer and 2 gallons of paint. Mayor Lannoye stated that no
reply has be:2n reebived from IIr. Rovang with regards to the weed
' spray. The.Clerk was instructed to contact the City Attorney regard-
ing this matter.
Mayor Lannoye presented. Ordinance no. 209 to the City Council. Said
ordinance is'in regards to the speed limit on that area of Grant Road
recently annexed into the. City. Ed Rich.moved to approve and adopt
ordinance no. 209; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed by a unanimous
vote.
The City Council agreed to purchase Errors and omissions insurance for
John Carlson, Wm. M. Hamilton, Dorotha McGee, Herb Olive and Don
Whitaker. This insurance is to be in conjunction with the false
arrest policy already carried by the city.
A discussion was held on the possible purchase of police cars. The
police department had requested that 4 cars be purchased. The Council
will take under consideration the possibility of replacing the green
car.
Charles Walker introduced Reserve Officer Harold Kirby to the Mayor
and Council. Reserve, Officers Kirby and Lee will be completing their
training with graduation ceromonies on MarchL27, 1975 at the Franklin
House. The: Mayor and City Officials were invited to attend.
' Cliff Tvedten moved that the meeting be adjourned; seconded by Doug
Hanna and passed unanimously.
