The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Doug
Hanna, Ray Duncan, Ed Rich, Cliff Tvedten;- Attorney John Carlson
and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows;.

'Ed Rich moved that the bills be paid with the exception of Highway
Safety Products and Andrews Equipment; motion seconded by Ray Duncan
and passed by a unanimous vote.
Mayor Lannoye reported that he has instructed the P.U.D. to bill the
City, after February 14, 1975, for the 3 street lights on Grant Road.
The Council members approved this action.
A discussion was held regarding the 35 M.P.R. speed limit on Grant
Road in the area recently annexed to the City. Council members agreed
that the speed limit in that area should remain at 35 M.P.R.; John
Carlson was requested to prepare an ordinance regarding same.
Mayor Lannoye re=appointed Jim Fryhover to the Civil Service Commission
for a 6 year term. Doug Hanna moved to approve said appointment;
motion seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
John Carlson presented the Fire contract to the Council for study.
Doug Hanna moved that the City approve the contract; Ray Duncan
seconded the motion and it was passed by a unanimous vote. John
Carlson will forward the contract to the Fire District,
John Carlson presented Ordinance No. 208 to the Mayor and Council.
Said ordinance approves a contract with Wenatchee Police Dept. for
Radio and dispatch service. Ray Duncan moved to approve and adopt
Ordinance no. 208; seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
John Carlson presented Ordinance no. 207 to the Mayor and Council.
Said ordinancb is for the purpose of adopting the building codes.
Doug Hanna moved to approve and adopt Ordinance no. 207; seconded by
Ed Rich and passed by a unanimous vote.
A discussion was held regarding Errors and ommissions insurance for
City officials. The Clerk was requested to place this item on the
agenda for the next meeting.
A number of persons present discussed annexation with City officials.
Some comments were made in opposition to being annexed into the City.
The Mayor stated that Dennis Mengelos will be promoted to Corporal
and Robert Kinkade to Patrolman 1st Class. He also reported that
Officer Syring has made a count of the gambling devices in use in
the City. The Council will study the matter of imposing charges on
said devices. Dennis Mengelos stated that the approval of the radio
grant has been denied.
The Council gave their approval on the application of Douglas County
for radios to be used in buses for trapeporting elderly persons.
' Doug Hanna moved that the City purchase a radar unit for $1,900.00 +
exchange; motion seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
Cliff Tvedten moved the meeting be adjourned; seconded by Doug Hanna
and passed unanimously.
