5/3/1976 - City Council - City Council Meeting Minutes
May 3, 1976 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was to order by Mayor Arthur Johnson. Present were Councilmen Willeford, Darrell McNeill, Hartley Beeler, Ray Duncan, Ed Attorney Neil Fuller and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Ed Ricb move& that the bills be paid; motion Willeford and passed by a unanimous vote. called John Rich; 25.85 9.65 35.72 3.68 15.90 16.54 92.98 964.00 11.09 36.03 81.50 seconded by John Neil Fuller reported that there is a possibility that a settlement can be reached on the U.A.B. matter. After a discussion, Ray Duncan moved that Neil Fuller try to negotiate a settlement for an amount less than $2,250.00; motion seconded by John Willeford and passed unanimously. Mayor Johnson reported on prices for parking lot signs, After a discussion, Charles Walker was instructed to talk to the School about making the sign. Jim Smith has requested grass seed, hose fertilizer and 2 sprinkler heads for the new park area. Darrell McNeill made a motion that said purchases be allowed; seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. 1 Ll Herb Olive reported to the Council that a hearing will be held on May 5, 1976 on the request of Duke Testall to be allowed to extend his building into the setback area. If this request is granted he will then ask the City to allow a stairway to extend three feet onto the parking lot. Council members were not in favor of granting this request. Herb Olive and Council members discussed the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. The Clerk presented a letter from Rainier Bank regarding the amount due to Highway Safety Products for repair of the paint nozzle. Ed Rich requested the Clerk prepare a voucher in the amount of $77.26 for the next meeting. The Clerk notified the Council that two Civil Service Commission members and a Secretary Chief -Examiner should be appointed to the Commission. Attorney Neil Fuller reported on the progress madd on the sales tax matter. Ray Duncan moved that the meeting be adjourned; motion seconded by John Willeford and passed unanimously. 1 Clerk 1
