The 'regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
order by Mayor Ed Rich. Present were Councilmen Darrell McNeill,
Hartley Beeler, Ray Duncan; Attorney Neil Fuller and City Glerk
Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows:

Councilman Reeler reported that he has checked the street lights and
feels that street are sufficiently lighted.
Darrell McNeill inquired as to the status of the claim made by Eddie
Mays against the City. Attorney Fuller stated that the matter is in
the hands of the insurance company.
Attorney Neil Fuller reported that he has not received written notice
from the State Auditor on the Baker street matter.
Mayor Rich requested that the City Attorney forward a letter to Wood
Brothers Const. Co. regarding repairs on an opening made in the street
at the Les Schwab Tire Center location. Roy Freeman reported that
repa- rs-were needed on a opening made in Gram Road near th Columbia
Cinema. He is to check with the Clerk regarding the permitee.
Herb Olive spoke to the Council on the proposed change in the location
of a portion of llth street at its intersection with Eastmont. He
may be able to obtain the necessary right-of-way from the Lutheran
Chufcb but a survey should be made. Darrell McNeill made a motion that
the City spend a maximun of $200,00 for said survey; motion seconded
by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously.
Mayor Rich stated that the next regular meeting date will be on a
hodiday and requested the Council schedule said regular meeting on
September 7, 1977. Ray Duncan made a motion that the first regular
meeting for September be scheduled on Wednesday, September 7, 1977;
motion seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
' Mayor Rich announced that the City will call for bids for the upgrading
and surfacing of Ashland Str. between 12 and 13th; 12th Street between
Ashland and Baker; and that portion of Alvin Court not completed in
1976. Bids to be opened at the next regular meeting.
The Clerk reported that Valley Electric has not posted a performance
bond reuired on the signal light project; and Teleprompter T.V. has
not posted the $25,000.00 bond as required in the franchise ordinance.
Roy Freeman stated that the FWD needs extensive repairs; Ray Duncan
will check the condition of the truck before approving repairs. Roy
Freeman also reported that fWater from lawn sprinklers is causing
damage to the streets at Greenbriar and Cedar Lane. Attorney Neil
Fuller will prepare an ordinance prohibiting this.
The Clerk reported that the first payment on the Stadium tqx has been
received. The City Attorney instructed her to hold the tax until an
agreement has been reached with the City of Wenatchee.
Roy Freeman inquired about the possibility of calling for bids for
a reversible snow plow blade. A discussion was held regarding the
blades now owned by the City. Ray Duncan will check the blades on
the cityiehidles.
Attorney Fuller was requested to prepare an ordinance declaring one of
the Matador vehicles surplus, to allow the city to offer it for sale.
Greg Brown, local business man, has reported to the Clerk, the lack of
parking on Main St.
