Nov. 6, 1978
' Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. The following
Council members were present: Hartley Beeler, Ray Duncan, Ed Rich,
Evan Sperline. City Attorney, Neil Fuller and City Clerk, Peggy
McArthur.
Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as presented. Motion
made by Ray Duncan, Seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved except for the following deletions:
S. & D. Paving in the amount of $2,010.04, S. & D. Paving in the
amount of $1,953.00, Warren, Gorham & Lamonts, Inc., $56.00 and
Boardman, Co., $62.98. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, Seconded by
Evan Sperline to pay all bills except for the above deletions until
they were checked into further. Passed unanimously.
Mayor Lannoye,
questioned the many charges
the Officers have for
Chiropractor services.
Chief Shaw said he
would look into the matter.

complimented Councilman Ray
Duncan for the many hours
he dedicated to
finding someone reasonable
to spray the City Shop.
Hartley Beeler said he would check into some lights that are burned
out by River Haven and also on Grant Road.
Ed Rich made a motion that the contract with the State Highway
Commission for the maintenance of City Signal lights be approved.
Seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously.
Changing the name of Main Street to Valley Mall Parkway was accepted
by the Council. An Ordinance will be drawn up by Attorney Neil Fuller.
Motion was made by Evan Sperline that the name change become effective
July 1, 1979, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously.
Dr. Steven Vanderhoff gave a presentation on
the
Rape Crisis Clinic.
Councilman Evan Sperline asked permission to
be excused
during this
presentation as he is on the advisory Board.
Dr.
Vanderhoff said
the Clinic is asking $5,000.00 contributions
from
the City of East
Wenatchee, City of Wenatchee, Douglas County
and
Chelan County for
a total of 20,000.00. Mayor Lannoye stated
that
the legality of such
a contribution and also if the City could afford
this contribution.
No action was taken at this meeting.
