' Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. Present: Ray .iC: n,
Ed Rich, Darrell McNeill, Evan Sperline, Hartley Beeler, Attorney Neil Fuller and
Clerk PeDgy McArthur.
Motion was made to approve minutes as submitted. Motion made by Evan Sperline,
Seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
Bills were approved as presented. Motion made by Ed Rich, Seconded by Ray Duncan
and passed unanimously.
Councilman Ed Rich advised the Council that he had talked to the County in regards
to Deeding 9th Street; City Limits at Hamilton to Baker and N.E. llth from Baker
to Colorado. Council's decision was to wait until later in the year before
taking any action.
Authorization was given by the Council to call for bids for the sale of surplus
tractor/mower no longer needed by the City. Bid opening for said tractor being
May 1, 1978 at regular meeting of the Council. Motion made by Ray Duncan,
Seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
Councilman Evan Sperline said he is still accepting names for an Annexation
Committee. He would like to have between 19 and 29 interested people.
Council approved the hiring of Munson Engineers, Inc., as consulting Engineers
for Signal Light at 6th and Main, for approximately $2,000.00, with one exception;
' that there be an installation inspection. Motion made by Ed Rich, Seconded by
Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
Autorization was given by the Council to Jack Horner of Rainier National Bank for
the proposed vacation of a portion of Main Street description as follows:
A strip of land 9.4 feet wide by 183.70 feet long on the West
side of Main Street, East Wenatchee, in Lot 9, East Wenatchee
Land Company's Plat of Section 11 and part of Section 2, Township
22 North, Range 20 East, W.M., Douglas County, Washington,
described as follows:
The West 9.4 feet of the East 30 feet of the South 183.70 feet of
said Lot 9, East Wenatchee Land Company's Plat of Section 11 and
part of Section 2, Township 22 North, Range 20 East, W.M.
Public Hearing for said vacation to be held at regular Council Meeting May IOtii.
8:00 P.M. Motion made by Evan Sperline, Seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
There was a discussion about the proposed Formation of a Boundary Review Board
for Douglas County from the Board of County Commissioners. Council agreed this
subject would take time to review. Will discuss more in detail at next meeting.
A letter presented to the Council by Police Chief, Gary Shaw asking for additional
personnel was deliberated. Mayor Forrest Lannoye suggested the Council meet with
Police Chief Shaw, Monday evening, May 24th and go over the needs of the Depart-
ment.
Authorization was given by the City Council to adopt Resolution 78-2 (Advance
Travel Expense Revolving Fund) in the amount of $650.00. Motion was made by
Councilman Ed Rich, Seconded by Evan Sperline and passed unanimously.
