HomeMy WebLinkAbout3/6/1978 - City Council - City Council Meeting Minutesn March 6th, 1978 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to 'Order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen, Ed Rich, Hartley Beeler, Ray Duncan, Evan Sperline, City Attorney Neil Fuller and Clerk Peggy Petersen. Motion was made to approve minutes as circulated by Evan Sperline, seconded by Hartley Beeler - passed unanimously. Bills were approved as presented. Motion made by Ed Rich to pay bills, seconded by Ray Duncan - passed unanimously. Councilman Rich said Simon Street has been roughed in. Said he and officer Brooks attended a Traffic Safety Meeting with Douglas County March 2nd, 1978. Traffic light at Eastmont & Grant road will probably not be granted until 1979. Richard Sele, Associate Engineer gave Roy Freeman the needed information on signs which has been sent in for a Grant. Councilman Duncan stated he has received two price quotations for a fire retardant for Shop. Low quote was received from G. G. Richardson, Inc., at a cost of $1,345.28. Urethane Systems, Inc., quoted $2,470.00 plus sales tax. Duncan stated he would contact G. G. Richardson, Inc., to confirm their quote. Authorization was given by the Council for Ray Duncan to contact G. G. Richardson, Inc., to apply the retardant. Motion made by Evan Sperline, seconded by Ed Rich, - passed unanimously. There being no objections to the annexation petitioned by Jack Hale, the annexation was accepted by the City Council. Ed Rich made a motion to accept said annexation, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously. Attorney Neil Fuller will have the two ordinances prepared. There was discussion by the City Council in reference to a Drainage culvert requested by Frank Johnson. Councilman Evan Sperline asked that there be no further discussion on the matter at this time, due ' to conflict of interest. A signal light on Main at the entrance to Sears was discussed.
