HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/5/1979 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesCOUNCIL MEETING
Nov. 5, 1979
' Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. Councilmen
present were as follows: Darrell McNeill, Ed Rich, Hartley Beeler,
Ray Duncan and Charles Walker. Attorney, Neil Fuller and City Clerk,
Peggy McArthur.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was
made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved with two exceptions. The Bill to
Wenatchee Valley Humane Society was denied as it was a 1978 obligation.
The invoice to Lloyds Auto & Truck, Inc. was questioned as it was
different from the Bid. The difference was due to a change in Sales
Tax and also $35.00 for painting of the truck was included. Ray
Duncan said he would contact Lloyds and ask them to submit their
invoice for the paint job separately. Motion was made by Hartley
' Beeler to pay bills, seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
The Council asked Mayor Lannoye if he would contact Dan Jennings concerning
a drainage problem he is having on Ashland between 14th & 15th streets.
Mr. Jennings claims the problem exists because of the resurfacing of
that street. However, the Council feel the problem was created by
Jennings when he paved his parking area.
The Council requested Attorney Neil Fuller to draw up an Emergency
Budget Ordinance for current expense. $30,000.00 for the Police
Department and $4,000.00 for General Administration.
The Council accepted the Preliminary Budget and set Dec. 3rd as
the Hearing date at 8:00 P.M. for the purpose of fixing the Final
Budget. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill
and passed unanimously.
Mayor Lannoye asked the Council if they wished to sell the F.W.D. as
surplus equipment. The Council decided to keep it for at least another
year as it is running good and they felt they could not get a fair
price out of it.
