Sept. 17, 1979
Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. Councilmen
present: Darrell McNeill, Ray Duncan, Hartley Beeler and Charles
Walker. City Clerk, Peggy McArthur.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as prssented. Motion
was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed
unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved as submitted. Motion was made by
Charles Walker, seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously.
Mayor Lannoye asked Roy Freeman to check with the Douglas County
Road Department and find out what they would charge for gravel and
to oil the parking lot in the park. Mayor Lannoye asked City Clerk
to put it on the Oct. 1st agenda.
Ray Duncan said it may be 20 to 25 days before the snow plow is
delivered to Truckweld to be installed on the new truck. Ray said
he would keep the pressure on them as the City will have to have it
' in time for winter snow plowing.
Hartley Beeler stated there is one light out on Baker Street and he
would contact P.U.D.
The Council adopted Ordinance No. 284 (setting for the amount to be
raised by taxation on assessed valuation. The City is asking 3.375
per one thousand dollars of assessed valuation. Motion was made by
Darrell McNeill, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously.
Appointing a Mayor Pro Tem for Oct. 15th was tabled until the Oct.
1st meeting.
Due to the absence of Attorney Neil Fuller, the law suit between Knobel
Electric and the City was not discussed.
Mayor Lannoye read a letter from S. & D. Paving concerning an error
in the City's
specifications
for surfacing on Arbor Terrace and
N.
Ashland. The
Council made a
motion to pay the amount
that had
been
bid for both
jobs and pay the
balance of $19,983.60 in
1980 if
the
'
City Attorney
feels this is a
legal procedure. Motion
was made
by
Darrell McNeill,
seconded by
Charles Walker and passed
unanimously.
