Sept. 5, 1979
Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. Councilmen
present: Darrell McNeill, Ray Duncan, Hartley Beeler and Ed Rich.
City Attorney, Neil Fuller and City Clerk, Peggy McArthur.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion
was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed
unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved as submitted with question of the
voucher to Castle Painting above the $125.00 which had been quoted
for
painting City
Hall. Roy Freeman advised the Council
that the
extra
$44.28 was
for 5 gallons of paint not included in
the quote
so
the restrooms
in the park could be painted. Motion was
made
by
Hartley Beeler
to pay all bills, seconded by Darrell
McNeill
'
and
passed unanimously.
Ray
Duncan stated
the truck for the Street Department is
in. The
bed
is being put
on, delivery to the City should be approximately
3 to
4 weeks.
The Council asked Mayor Lannoye if he would try to negotiate with
P.U.D. concerning a street light at llth and Cedar Lane. The light
will be turned out if the City does not put it on their system.
The present light is on the County side and if P.U.D. would move
the light to the pole across the street the City would consider
keeping it in operation as it is a much needed light for the area.
There was some discussion concerning the suit between Knobel Electric
and the City. Attorney Neil Fuller said there was still room to argue
so asked that it be put back on the agenda.
' Annexation on the East Wenatchee side of the bridge was again discussed.
Attorney Fuller said he would look into the possibilities of getting
it into the City.
