Aug. 6, 1979
' Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. The following Council
were present: Hartley Beeler, Ray Duncan, Charles Walker, Ed Rich and Darrell
McNeill. Attorney Neil Fuller and City Clerk, Peggy McArthur.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by
Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved as submitted with the exception of $210.00 plus
tax deducted from the voucher to North Central Chevrolet, making a total of
$6,780.00 for the 1979 Nova. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell
McNeill and passed unanimously.
Authorization was given by the Council to call for bids for the resurfacing of
Arbor Terrace, between 13th and 15th and Ashland, between 13th and 15th. These
streets are to be separate bid items and will be opened Sept. 5th. Motion was
made by Ed Rich, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously.
The Council adopted the amended Bolinger's Short Sub -division recommended by
City Planner, William Millett. Motion was made by Darrell McNeill, seconded by
Charles Walker and passed unanimously.
Mayor Lannoye read a letter from Nancy Norman complaining about noise made by
Dependable Disposal in the early morning hours. Mrs. Norman was also present
to see if anything could be done. Mayor Lannoye said he had received numerous
complaints from persons stating their garbage was not being picked up. He
asked Neil Fuller to look into both matters and see what can be done to allivate
some of the problems.
Mayor Lannoye said James Ruble Jr.
had
been appointed to the
Civil Service
Commission replacing a member who
had
moved out of the area.
The Council had
no objection to this appointment.
The
Mayor said there was
still one position
'
to be filled.
Officer Cawood's Ceta termination
was
discussed. The Council
agreed to hire him
as a permanent employee at the end
of
the termination which
is Sept. 30, 1979.
