HomeMy WebLinkAbout7/16/1979 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesCOUNCIL MEETING July 16, 1979 Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. The following Council members were present. Hartley Beeler, Ray Duncan, Charles Walker and Ed Rich. City Clerk Peggy McArthur. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimoulsy. Bills and accounts were approved as submitted. Motion was made by Ray Duncan with the exception that 10% be withheld from S. & D. Paving until such time as they complete the job to the satisfaction of the City Council. Seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously. Ray Duncan made a motion to reject the only bid from Leroy Bellow of $400.00 for the 1977 surplus Pontiac. Seconded by Charles Walker and passed unanimously. Authorization was given by the Council to accept the application of Charles Truitt, Jr. to the Planning Commission. Motion was made by Charles Walker, seconded by Hartley ' Beeler and passed unanimously. Authorization was given by the Council to accept the application of Walt Hanson to the Planning Commission. Motion was made by Charles Walker, seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously. Authorization was given by the Council to advertise unclaimed items at a Police Auction Aug. 11, 1979 at City Hall. Motion was made by Ed Rich, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously. The Council accepted the proposed Amendment of Bolinger's Short Subdivision with final adoption planned for the Aug. 6th meeting. Motion was made by Ed Rich, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously. The Council accepted a petition to vacate a portion of 9th St. N.E. Notice of Hearing to be set for Aug. 20, 1979. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. There was some discussion about run-off water on llth St. The street department will install a catch basin on llth to help alleviate the problem. Also a water ' problem behind the Mall was deliberated. Heber Kennedy from Center Investments said they were going to put in another catch basin as they apparantly changed the flow of run-off when they put in a parking area.
