Ray Duncan
and Ed Rich.
Attorney Neil Fuller and City Clerk Peggy McArthur.
'
Meeting was
called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye.
Minutes of
the previous
meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by
Ray Duncan,
seconded by
Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved as sumbitted with exception of a voucher to
Electrical Connection in the amount of 823.12 which will be paid at the next Council
Meeting after the service has been inspected. It was also noted that a voucher
to Morrill Asphalt in the amount of 335.02 be paid by the City but the Clerk was advised
to bill General Telephone for reimbursement of that amount as it was their crossing
that Morrill patched. Neil Fuller was asked to re-evaluate his billing and make any
necessary adjustments if any. Motion was made by Hartley Beeler, seconded by Ed Rich
and passed unanimously.
There was some discussion concerning the many openings that have been made on Grant
Road and the condition of the road. Dan Reeves said something would have to be done
with it in the near future and suggested maybe slurry seal &u oft would be the
answer. Councilman Ed Rich said he had reports that it would not hold up under heavy
traffic. Dan was asked to check with the company and find out where slurry seal has
been applied in other areas and the Council could perhaps look at some of the jobs.
Dan asked about having some trees cut down in the park. The Council said they would
like a plan of which trees are to be removed and what they will be replaced with
before making a decision.
Permission was given by the Council to purchase a Flag.
Neil Fuller said he should have an answer concerning the Annexation of a portion of
9th st. and Baker st. by the next Council meeting.
There were no objection by the Council for an application by James Paul Thompson
for a beer & wine license for a new business to be located at 961 Valley Mall
Parkway.
Mayor Lannoye read a Memo from Chief Brooks stating that the City will be receiving
a bill for 295.48 to cover the City's share of a new portable alarm system. He stated
if the City would have purchased this system without a Grant, the cost would have been
near 2,000.00.
be
Neil Fuller said it wouldAquite some time before Hisey vs. City of East Wenatchee
would be ready for trial. He said Mr. Halverson would be representing the City.
Authorization was given by the Council to remove a 1975 Matador from the Police
fleet. This car is to be used by city employees and city officials when doing
city business. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Ed Rich and passed
unanimously.

that under the present administration the City is%ceiving adequate information
and benefits for the annual fee which will probably be increased in 1981. This
matter will be discussed again at a later date.
