HomeMy WebLinkAbout6/16/1980 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesCOUNCIL MEETING June 16, 1980 ' Councilmen present were as follows; John Pflugrath, Hartley Beeler, Darrell McNeill and Ed Rich. Attorney, Neil Fuller and City Clerk, Peggy McArthur. John Pflugrath made a motion to appoint Ed Rich Mayor Pro-tem in the absence of Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously. Ed Rich called the meeting to order. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by John Plfugrath, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously. Bills and accounts were approved as submitted with two exceptions. Wenatchee Iron and Metal voucher in the amount of 126.00 and Pybus Steel voucher inthe amount of 124.91 to be paid with Accumulative Storm Drain Funds. Motion was made by John Pflugrath, seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously. Greg Colby asked permission to set up two fire works stands. One at Wenatchee Valley Mall and one at 470 Grant Rd. Motion was made by Darrell McNeill to allow the request. Seconded by John Pflugrath and passed unanimously. ' There was discussion about enforcing a 10,000.00 Bond for any contractor opening a City street. Dan Reeves said he would like a clause added to the Ordinance stating that a street could not be cut on a Friday and left open over a weekend unless its an emergency. Neil Fuller said he should be notified if a contractor fails to obtain a permit to open a street before making a cut. John Pflugrath said he would like the Council to consider the purchase of two polaroid cameras. One for the street department and one for the police department. He said this might solve some of the problems the City has been having if there were pictures on file. Western Refrigeration was awarded the low bid for heating & air conditioning units for City Hall. The low bid of 4,150.00 plus an option of 420.00 for fresh air dampers plus sales tax. Motion was made by John Plfugrath, seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously. There was more discussion about lowering the ceiling in the Clerk's office. John Pflugrath said he had a quote of 420.00. It would be close to 1,000.00 with ' adequate lighting. No decision was made at this time. Attorney Neil Fuller said he has the flood control map in his office and will review it again. Any calls concerning this matter should be directed to his office.
