HomeMy WebLinkAbout4/7/1980 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesCITY COUNCIL MEETING
April 7, 1980
' Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. Councilmen present were
as follows: Darrell McNeill, John Pflugrath, Ray Duncan and Hartley Beeler.
Neil Fuller, City Attorney and City Clerk, Peggy McArthur.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by
John Pflugrath, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved as submitted. Motion was made by Ray Duncan,
seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
Councilman McNeill said he had received two quotes for trimming the trees in the
park. The Council decided to hold off on the project at this time.
Councilman Hartley Beeler said he had written a letter to the P.U.D. requesting
them not to bill the City for lights 27 an 72 which have not been in operation
for some time.
Mayor Lannoye suggested that the Council look at Greenbrier, Clements Cr. and
Colorado Streets. .All of these streets appear to be in very poor condition and
in need of blacktopping. The Council asked Mayor Lannoye to contact the County
' and see if they would be willing to share in the cost of Greenbrier as the
County owns a 10 foot strip. The Mayor asked that the issue be put back on April
21st agenda.
The Council accepted the resignation of James Ruble on the Civil Service Commission
and accepted the appointment of Chet Bowers to fill that position.
Ray Duncan agreed to continue as a member of the Douglas County Disability Board.
The City Clerk was asked to submit his name to the Mayors in Douglas County.
The Council asked Mayor Lannoye to contact the Telephone Co. regarding two dead
trees on the property of Mrs. Jacobsen at Arbor Terrace and 13th. She had called
and asked if the City could remove them. They don't appear to be on the City
right of way but could be a problem to the Telephone Co. if not removed.
The Council adopted Resolution No. 1-80 and a public hearing will be held
April 21, 1980 on the annexation of the Clover -Leaf Interchange on the East side
of the Bridge. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by John Pflugrath
and passed unanimously.
' A maintenance agreement between the Department of Transportation and the City was
adopted by the Council. Motion was made by John Pflugrath, seconded by Hartley
Beeler and passed unanimously.
