HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/21/1981 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesCouncil Meeting Dec. 21, 1981 I Councilmen present: Ray Duncan, Darrell McNeill, Hartley Beeler, John Pflugrath and Ed Rich. City Clerk, Peggy McArthur. Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by Darrell McNeill, seconded by Ray Duncan and passed unanimously. Bills and accout%ts were approved as submitted with a voucher to Centeral Wash. Hospital in the amount of 161.00 to be held until the next meeting for further study. Motion was made by Ed Rich, seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously. Councilman, John Pflugrath stated he would like to have someone in charge of the purchases of the street department as he feels they could get better buys on some items if they shopped around. The Council unanimously agreed to have a street light installed at llth and Eastmont Councilman Beeler said he would advise P.U.D. The cost to the City for installation will be $313.00. The Council signed an Agreement between the City and the City of Wenatchee for the uses of 1981 Stadium Fund monies; to be used for lighting invthe Wenatchee Center. & Maintenance The paint striper bid was discussed. Mayor Lannoye suggested the Council might want to wait and check the availability of parts and fix up the old striper. After 'much deliberation, the Council approved the bid from Traffic Control Signs Co. in the amount of $7,980.00. The low bid and options from Scarborough and Daughter, the Council, did not feel would meet the needs nor satisfaction of the City. Motion was made by John Pflugrath, seconded by Ed Rich and passed. Ray Duncan was against awarding the bid at this time. Authorization was given by the Council to split property & sales tax 60 percent to current expense, 40 percent to street, for the 1982 budet. The Council adopted Ordinance No. 323 (1982 Salary Ordinance) Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. The Council adopted Ordinance No. 324 (1982 Findal Budget). Motion was made by John Pflugrath, seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. Aughorization was given by the Council to contract with the Wenatchee Humane Society for 1982. Joel Warner, Manager for the Humane Society said they would contract for 800.00 less the cost of dog tags already ordered by the City. He stated an agreement would be ready by the next meeting. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. The City Council suggested they would like people who are talented in the Community to submit logos for decals to be made up and put on City Equipment. The Council would like these turned in by the 1st meeting in Feb. Authorization was given by the Council to close City Hall Thursday the 24th of Dec. at Noon.
