Jan. 4, 1982
Councilmen present: Ray Duncan, Darrell McNeill, Hartley Beeler, John Pflugrath
and Ed Rich. Attorney Neil Fuller and City Clerk, Peggy
McArthur.
The Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by
Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved as submitted with the exception of a bill to Mobilefone
Northwest. The Clerk was directed to reduce payment to 35.35 as 21.63 of this bill was
to be exempt. Motion was made by Ed Rich, seconded by John Pflugrath and passed
unanimously.
Ed Rich asked the Council and Mayor if they would stay after the meeting for an
executive session concerning personnel.
Hartley Beeler said the street light had been installed at llth and Eastmont.
Hartley Beeler introduced three exchange students and they were welcomed by the Mayor
and Council.
The Council agreed that it should probably be the function of the Planning Board
'to decide what action should be taken concerning Conditional Use Permits and in turn,
bring their recommendations before the Council. Neil Fuller was asked to contact
George Sperline and assist him with any questions he may have.
Authorization was given by the Council to accept the Contract for Services with
the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by
Ed Rich and passed unanimously.
The Council unanimously voted not to adopt an Ordinance increasing the dog license
fee from 5.00 to 10.00 for the year 1982. The City Clerk was asked to keep the
Ordinance on file for future consideration.
The Council accepted an agreement with the Chelan -Douglas Health District for 1982.
Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously.
Dan Reeves and the Council discussed topping some of the trees in the park before
Spring. He stated some of them were interfering with P.U.D. lines. Dan was asked
to contact P.U.D. as their crews may want to top the trees around their lines.
John Pflugrath said one large tree in the parking lot should be removed completely.
Heber Kennedy reminded the Council of the Chamber Banquet Jan. 14th and a Legislative
Session Jan. 5th at the Wenatchee Center.
There being no further business, Hartley Beeler made a motion that the meeting be
adjourned. Seconded by John Pflugrath and passed unanimously.
