HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/5/1983 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesCITY OF EAST WENATCHEE COUNCIL MEETING Dec. 5, 1983 Members present: John Pflugrath, Ray Duncan, Ed Rich, Darrell McNeill and Hartley Beeler. Meeting was called to Order by Mayor, Forrest Lannoye. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously. Bills and accounts were approved as submitted. Motion was made by Ray Duncan with the stipulation that Cascade Chevrolet paint the cab to meet the City's specifications as per letter dated Dec. 2, 1983 and signed by Steve Baldock, President. Seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. Bob Goodman was instructed to make arrangements to have the cab painted when its convenient and the truck isn't needed. Bids were opened for a new wheel type loader. The following submitted bids. 1. Seco - John Deere 444C (1) 48,631.50 (2) 49,006.00 2. Modern Machinery, Spokane - Trojan 1500 Z 42,265.00 3. Case Power & Equip - Moses Lake - Case W18B 52,342.00 ' 4. Inland Machinery - Caterpillar 920 50,288.50 5. Howard Cooper - International Hough Model 515E 48,804.97 After some discussion, the Council felt it would take some time to review the specifications and they would like to look at each loader. Motion was made by Ray Duncan to award the bid at the Dec. 19th meeting. Seconded by John Plfugrath and passed unanimously. The Council reviewed the request from the Wenatchee Area Visitors & Convention Bureau for 2000,00 from Stadium fund monies for printing maps and guides. The Council stated that all stadium fund monies have been budgeted and authorized the request if the guides and map give the City of East Wenatchee more identity. Motion was made by Ray Duncan,to acknowledge this request if they guide and map meet the criteria of the Council. Seconded by Hartley Beeler and passed unanimously. Authorization was given by the Council to split property and sales tax revenue 60 percent to current expense, 40 percent to street. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by Darrell McNeill and passed unanimously. The Council set the date of December 19th for adoption of the final budget. December 12th was set for a budget workshop to establish funds for an anticipated 400,000.00 cash carry-over from 1983. Mayor Lannoye suggested a fund be set up for street repair, surfacing, sidewalks and lighting systems. John Pflugrath suggested he would like a fund set up for right-of-way acquisition. No action was 'taken at this time. Bob Sumbardo and Phil Blakney representing the Wenatchee Area Chamber of Commerce presented their budget statement for 1984.
