1 Oct. 17, 1983
Councilmen present: John Pflugrath, Ray Duncan, and Ed Rich. Attorney, Neil
Fuller and City Clerk, Peggy McArthur.
In the absence of Mayor, Forrest Lannoye, Ray Duncan made a motion that Ed Rich
be appointed Mayor Pro-tem. Seconded by John Pflugrath and passed.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion was made by
Ray Duncan, seconded by John Pflugrath and passed unanimously.
Bills and accounts were approved as submitted. Motion was made by Ray Duncan,
seconded by John Pflugrath and passed unanimously.
Ray Duncan said the parking lots have been paved and the radius at Grant & Rock
Island roads is finished and both jobs look good.
Bob Goodman said the new truck should be delivered about the 24th or 25th of this
month.
Authorization was given by the Council to use the 1984 Federal Shared Revenue
payments and 1983 carry over for the 1984 Fire Contract as no one provided oral or
' written comments for its use. Motion was made by Ray Duncan, seconded by John
Pflugrath and passed unanimously.
Authorization was given by the Council to set Nov. 7th as the Hearing date for the
Preliminary Budget.
Ed Daling said they are still struggling to finalize their brochure. He said they
would like to increase the size of the map, making it loose instead of part of the
brochure, so additional changes can be added without much cost. He stated the cost
for the enlarged maps would be an additional 500.00 for 5,000. The Council thought
this would be a good idea. Ed said they would have all the information available
by the Nov. 7th meeting as they hope to have it ready to go by Nov. 15th.
Ray Duncan told Mr. Daling the Department of Transportation would probably be happy
to help draft the map.
John Pflugrath asked Mr. Daling when the Chamber plans to put up the other sign
entering East Wenatchee on the North End of the City. Mr. Daling said they are
still waiting for an answer from the Department of Transportation as too where
they can put the sign.
Bob Goodman said he pruchased 100 bags of salt from Utah Salt Inc. as they had
extra. He said the cost was less than he could purchase it locally.
Bob asked for permission to purchase 50 12 foot 4"x4" posts for signs. He has been
paying 7.00 per post and these will be 5.00 each plus 25.00 for delivery from
Ephrata. The Council gave him permission to order them.
