HomeMy WebLinkAbout8/20/1990 - City Council - City Council Meeting Minutes7 L 1 EAST WENATCHEE, DOUGLAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON REGULAR SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CONVENED MAYOR RICHARD MCGRAW PRESIDING AUGUST 20, 1990 6:30 P.M. (This meeting was recorded and will be retained at City Hall for a period of six years from the date of the meeting.) Councilmembers Present: Councilmember McArthur, Councilmember Hendricks, Councilmember Cassel, Councilmember Collings, Councilmember McKee. Staff Present: Gini Oestreich, Charles Zimmerman, Nick Wiltz, John Flinner, Bruce Nash. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES: Regular Session, August 6, 1990. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Hendricks, ' second by Councilmember Cassel to approve the minutes as read. The motion carried, 5-0. CONSIDERATION OF BILLS Vouchers audited and certified by the auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24.080, and those expense reimbursement claims certified as required by RCW 42.24.090, have been recorded on a listing which has been made available to Council. As of this date, August 20, 1990, the Council does approve for payment voucher numbers 11539 through 11578, and voucher numbers 3114 through 3120, in the amount of $35,128.59. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Cassel, second by Councilmember McKee to approve the bills as presented subject to proper audit. The motion carried, 5-0. DEPARTMENT REPORTS Police Department Police Chief Flinner said that Eastmont Kiwanis had donated a 1987 Taurus to the city to be used as a DARE vehicle. This ' vehicle would be shared with Douglas County. In response to a question from Councilmember Hendricks regarding the quarterly report wages paid so far this year, Chief Flinner said the amount was due to overtime during the hiring of a new officer. He added the department would not be over budget this year. 1- A 67 Code Enforcement Code Compliance Officer Wiltz reported on an earthquake seminar he had attended in Woodinville adding the valley was a low risk area. ORDINANCE 90-8-2 First reading of an ordinance relating to the City of East Wenatchee Uniform Building Code Mayor McGraw said the ordinance had previously been reviewed by council and he read first reading.
