An Ordinance of the City of East Wenatchee amending Chapter
10.32.090 of the East Wenatchee Municipal Code (EWM:C), containing a
severability clause, and establishing an effective date.

2. Recitals.
^.7. The City of East Wenatchee ("City") is a non-charter code city, duly
incorporated and operating under the laws of the State of Washington.
3. Authority.
3.1.RCW 35A.11.020 and ROW 35A.12.190 authorize the City Council to adopt
ordinances of all kinds to regulate its municipal affairs and appropriate to
the good government of the City.
4. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Chapter 10.32.090 of the
East Wenatchee Mlunicipal Code (EW]VIC) as reflected in Exhibit A.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST WENATCHEE DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
6. Action. The City Council amends Chapter 10.32.090 of the East Wenatchee
Municipal Code (EWMC) as reflected in Exhibit A.
6. Findings of Fact. The City Council adopts as its findings of fact the recitals
set forth above.
7. Repeal. The City Council repeals those provisions of any ordinance that are in
conflict with the language of this Ordinance.
8. SeverabUity. If a court of competent jurisdiction declares any provision in this
Ordinance to be contrary to law, such declaration shall not affect the validity of
the other provisions of this Ordinance.

9. Publication. The City Council directs the City Clerk to publish a summary of this
Ordinance. The summary shall consist of the title of this Ordinance. The City
Council directs the City Clerk to publish a copy of this Ordinance on the City's
web site.
lO.EfEective Date. This Ordinance becomes effective November 3, 2025.
Passed by the City Council of East Wenatchee, at a regular meeting thereof on
this 21st day of October 2025.

The maximum speed limit on 15th Street N.E. between State Route 28N Baker Ave and

The maximum speed limit on 19th Street N.W. between Cascade Avenue and State Route

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the maximum speed limit in the city is 25
miles per hour. (Ord. 12-14 § 4, 2012)
10.32.015 School and playground zones.
EXHIBIT A
All speed limits in the city are subject to the following restrictions: (A) No person may
operate any vehicle at a speed in excess of 20 miles per hour when passing any marked
school or playground crosswalk; and (B) No person may operate any vehicle at a speed in
excess of 20 miles per hourwhen within any marked school or playground zone when such
marked crosswalk or zone is fully posted with school speed limit signs or playground speed
limit signs. The speed zone at the crosswalk extends 300 feet in either direction from the
marked crosswalk. The school or playground zone may extend 300 feet from the border of
the school or playground, but may include only an area consistent with active school or
