' Acting Chief of Police Randy Harrison said plaques would be given to each Reserve Officer at the next Council meeting in appreciation of their volunteer service. Randy said the cost would be approximately $1,800.00. It was the consensus of the Council that the additional computer station was necessary. Bob Burke spoke to the Council about the Planning meeting that will be held Oct. 20th and 21st in Yakima. He said it was to celebrate the Twenty Five Years of service of the Planning Association of Washington. Bob said Thursday's meeting would be of interest to the Planning Commission as there will be a planning short course. Friday's meeting will include key issues such as transportation, land use, etc. He said an Attorney, Jim Ellis will attend and prehaps Governor Dan Evans. Bob Burke also advised the Council that there will be a planning and zoning meeting in Wenatchee October 28th and 29th at the Wenatchee Center. Tery McKee said Nick Wiltz would have time to ask the planning commission members if they wanted to attend the meeting in Yakima and report back at the next meeting and the Council could made a decision at that time. Bob Burke explained his expenditures to date and noted ongoing 1988 tasks. He said Top Foods store and the viewpoint has taken a considerable amount of time. Bob stated that the Promotions Committee has really gone ahead and taken some very positive action and that has taken additional time and extra meetings.
