HomeMy WebLinkAbout3/13/1986 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesSpecial Meeting Mar. 13, 1986 Councilmembers present: Brian Taylor, Dick McGraw, Les Young, Tery McKee and Paul Cassel. City Attorneys, Bob Kiesz and Chuck Zimmerman. City Clerk Peggy McArthur. In the absence of Mayor Don Crain, Mayor Pro-tem called the meeting to Order. Paul Cassel explained that the purpose of the special meeting was to call an executive session to discuss with legal counsel potential litigation involving fire and building code violations. The question was asked if comments from the public would be accepted. After a short discussion, Mayor Paul Cassel asked if there was any input from the public. John Day 1815 Carl St. stated that he has wanted to bubdive property on Pace Drive and was told he would have to put in a fire hydrant at his own expense. He asked if the City had a double standard. Paul Cassel thanked him and asked if there was a motion to go into executive session. Motion was made by Dick McGraw to go into executive session for approximately one-half hour. Seconded by Brian Taylor and passed unanimously. The session was extended another one-half hour. ' The Council asked George Sperline to withdraw a buidling permit No. 5-86 issued to Ed Dillon to build a green house located at 550 9th St. as the size of the building did not comply with City Codes. The Council also asked City Attorneys to proceed with an investigation into the property located at 550 9th St. and to determine if there were indeed violations by Ed Dillon in regard to building and fire codes. The Council recovened into regular session. There being no further business, Brian Taylor made a motion that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Dick McGraw and passed unanimously.
