REGULAR SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CONVENED

ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present, Councilmember Hendricks, Councilmember
Lacy, Councilmember McArthur, Councilmember Mikow, Mayor
Collings. Councilmember Nash excused as absent.
Staff Presents Virginia Oestreich, John Flinner, Bob Goodman,
Nick Wiltz, Linda Countryman, Stuart Campbell, Chuck Zimmerman,
Chet Virnig.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
PRESENTATION
Bret Drager, the city's lead architect on the city hall project,
updated Council on the schedule and timing of the project. He
said the notice of bid would be June 28 and bids would be opened
' July 15. Council discussed where the ad should be published= it
was decided the local papers, Seattle paper and Journal of
Commerce.
Council Actions A motion was made by Councilmember Lacy, second
by Councilmember Mikow to approve notice of the bid and proceed
with the bidding process. The motion carried unanimously, 4-0.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
Bob Goodman, Street Superintendent, said one of the street
projects would be paving 11th Street and 13th Street above
Eastmont. However, the llth Street project may be delayed for
awhile since residents in the area were willing to consider an
LID to support the cost of the project. Mr. Goodman asked
Council approval to start the engineering phase of the paving
project on Eastmont between 8th and 15th. Council agreed by
consensus.
Hr. Goodman said improvements on 3rd Street may begin sooner than
originally anticipated. The developer would be responsible for
one side of the street and the city the other side. Council
agreed by consensus for Hr. Goodman to start the engineering
phase of this project also.

RESOLUTION NO. 93-5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST
WENATCHEE, WASHINGTON. AMENDING THE SIX -YEAR
TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO ADD THE EAST
WENATCHEE 9TH STREET CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.
RESOLUTION
93-05-06 A resolution adopting the 1994-1999 Six Year
Transportation Plan
Street Superintendent Goodman noted for Council that the 8th and
9th Street connection and the East Wenatchee River Trail had been
added to this plan also since the projects would continue on into
1994.
Council Actions A motion was made by Councilmember Lacy, second
by Councilmember Hendricks to approve the 1994-1999
Transportation plan and the resolution adopting it. The motion
carried unanimously, 4-0.
RESOLUTION NO. 93-6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST
WENATCHEE, WASHINGTON. ADOPTING A SIX -YEAR
TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AND DIRECTING THE
SAME TO BE FILED WITH THE STATE SECRETARY OF
TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT BOARD.
93-06-03 A resolution adopting an agreement with the WSDOT
regarding the STP funding
City Planner Campbell said the agreement was required for the
federal funding for the 9th Street Corridor project. A
resolution would adopt the agreement and authorizes the mayor to
sign it.
Council Actions A motion was made by Councilmember Hendricks,
second by Councilmember Lacy to approve the agreement for federal
funding, authorize the Mayor to sign the agreement and pass the
resolution adopting it. The motion carried unanimously, 4-0.

Councilmember Hendricks gave a report on the LINK telephone
survey conducted within the Greater Wenatchee Area.
MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Collings said the Trail Committee had been meeting and
resolving any concerns in the process. Jennifer would be giving
Council an update in the near future.
Mayor Collings said the East Wenatchee Sunfest was a very good
event and she was very pleased with the crowd turnout. Everyone
seemed to have a good time.
She said she would be at the Association of Washington City's
Conference in Yakima the rest of the week.
She would also be attending the Founders Day Parade in Cashmere
the following weekend.
Mayor Collings said previous Mayor Jerry Ramaker and his wife
visited city hall. They brought several pictures of East
Wenatchee from the past and would have more for the new city
hall. They hoped to attend the ribbon cutting.
