PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
PRESENTATION
Lee Pardini
and Brett Drager, Merritt+Pardini,
the City's
architectural
firm, presented a final
cost analysis for the new
city hall and
discussed plans for the
next phase of the process.
Mr. Pardini
said the estimate for
the city hall was now 2.3
million dollars
and the original estimate
had been 2.05 million
dollars. The
new estimate was twelve
percent over the original;
however, seven
and one half percent of
that was contingency. Mr.
Pardini asked
Council for direction on
how to proceed.
Mr. Drager said some suggested savings were a composition roof
rather than the proposed metal roof, eliminating the terraced
stone wall and stone on the rotunda, and reducing landscaping.
An estimated one hundred sixty-three thousand dollars could be
saved through these measures to arrive at the new estimate of 2.3
million dollars. Mr. Drager said alternate bids could be
requested including and excluding the roof, stone, and
landscaping.
Councilmember Lacy asked City Clerk/Treasurer oestreich for a
recap of the funding situation. Ms. Oestreich reviewed the
funding procedure to date for Council. She said the additional
two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars could be made available
from reserves and perhaps an additional councilmanic bond. Ms.
Oestreich said she would have more definite figures for Council ,
before the bidding process began.
Councilmember Hendricks said he felt the proposed changes should
be accepted.
