REGULAR SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CONVENED

ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present: Councilmember Nash, Councilmember Mikow, Councilmember Stanton,
Councilmember Carson, Councilmember Aiken, Councilmember Buckner, Mayor Lacy. Councilmember
Hendricks excused.
Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Carson, second by Councilmember Nash to
excuse Councilmember Hendricks from this Council meeting. The motion carried, 6-0.
Staff Present: Bob Goodman, Randy Harrison, Dana Barnard, Linda Countryman, Nick Wiltz, Lori
Barnett, Darin Bender, Chuck Zimmerman, Pete Fraley.

MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Lacy said Angela Larson from Rock Island has been selected to fill the vacant position as
' representative to the Chelan Douglas Health District.
Mayor Lacy said there will be an Association of Washington Cities regional meeting in Wenatchee on
October 8, 1998.
Mayor Lacy said a Visioning Workshop for Cities and Local Government services in the area will be
held at the Convention Center at 7:00 p.m. September 24, and all day on September 25.
Mayor Lacy said there will be a Bridge Study open house at City Hall on September 10, from 5:30 p.m.
to 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Lacy said he had attended a budget workshop in Leavenworth with City Treasurer Countryman.
He said he received some good information and had ideas of making East Wenatchee's budget process a
better experience. He said a budget committee of Councilmembers would be selected; a retreat will be
held to discuss the committees' vision; a full session will be held by all to ensure the budget reflects the
visions. He added staff would start presenting their goals and visions at the next two Council meetings.
