ROLL CALL Councilmembers Present: Councilmember Nash, Councilmember Mikow, Councilmember Lacy, Councilmember Buckner, Councilmember Hendricks, Mayor Collings. Councilmember Carson, arrived at 6:45 p.m. Councilmember Aiken excused. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Nash, second by Councilmember Hendricks to excuse Councilmember Aiken from this Council meeting. The motion carried, 5-0. Staff Present: Bob Goodman, Stuart Campbell, Nick Wiltz, Dana Barnard, Linda Countryman, Darin Bender, Lenny Breckenridge. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Collings said the May financial report had been completed, copies were given to Council. Mayor Collings said a recent article on the opinion page of the Empire Press had given her some concern regarding mis- information. She reported her conversation with the Editor of the Empire Press regarding the article DEPARTMENT REPORTS Street Department Street Superintendent Goodman said the Sunset Ridge developers had agreed to fund forty thousand dollars towards sidewalks, curbs, gutters and street lighting in the development. He added an estimate had been given by a contractor in the amount of fifty-one thousand dollars. Mr. Goodman asked council to approve fifteen thousand dollars from the street funds to complete the project. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Nash, second by Councilmember Hendricks authorizing fifteen thousand dollars from the street funds towards sidewalks, curbs, gutters and street lighting for the Sunset Ridge development. The motion carried, 5-0. Mr. Goodman said the Street Department has equipment to surplus and asked council for approval of having the items auctioned. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Lacy, second by Councilmember Nash approving the sale of surplus items from the Street Department. Community Development Director Campbell said the Comprehensive Plan has been completed. Campbell reviewed the changes being made to the final plan. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Hendricks, second by Councilmember Nash to approve the Comprehensive Plan as amended by the Planning Commission. The motion carried, 6-0. Mayor Collings thanked the Citizens Advisory Committee, the Planning Commission and the Community Development Director for the many hours they devoted to the Comprehensive Plan.
