LACY, PRESIDING OCTOBER 9, 2000 6:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Councilmembers Present: Councilmember Hendricks, Councilmember Bremmer, Councilmember DeWitt, Councilmember Nash, Councilmember Smet, Mayor Lacy. Councilmembers Buckner and Aiken excused. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Smet, second by Councilmember Hendricks to excuse Councilmember Buckner from this meeting. The motion carried, 5-0. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Nash, second by Councilmember DeWitt to excuse Councilmember Aiken. The motion carried, 5-0. Staff Present: Dana Barnard, Bob Goodman, Randy Harrison, Teresa Allen, Bruce Nash, Darin Bender, Chuck Zimmerman. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE PROCLAMATION Mayor Lacy read a proclamation designating October 28, 2000 as Make A Difference Day in the City of East Wenatchee. CITIZEN COMMENTS Roger Boyer, Douglas County Parks and Recreation Director, said the Children's Fair at Sterling Middle School on October 7 ° was attended by more than six hundred kids. He thanked the East Wenatchee Police Department for participating in the activity by fingerprinting ID cards for kids. Jean Paul Wardy, Wenatchee Valley Mall said the Food Pavilion would be opening on Thursday, October I Ith. Mr. Wardy said the Bon Marche would begin construction November 1, 2000 with an anticipated opening of November 2001. He added other improvements such as new flooring, paint and accents would be completed by November 2000. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Lacy said the budget committee meeting will be October 161h at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Lacy said the Solid Waste Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day held Saturday October 7" was well utilized by the public.
