LACY, PRESIDING MAY 29, 2001 6:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Councilmembers Present: Councilmember DeWitt, Councilmember Nash, Councilmember Hendricks, Councilmember Aiken, Councilmember Buckner, Councilmember Smet, Councilmember Bremmer, Mayor Lacy. Staff Present: Dana Barnard, Randy Harrison, Bob Goodman, Teresa Allen, Joan Sims, Bruce Nash, Chuck Zimmerman. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE CITIZEN COMMENTS Shannon Holman, Manager, Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, said they have been working with the Department of Transportation and Land Services in hopes of holding concerts at the Super Oval facility. ' Ms. Holman estimated revenue to the Wenatchee Valley at one million two hundred seventy-one thousand dollars per season, with four concerts being held each season. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Lacy said he had reviewed the Douglas County Code and conceded that concerts held at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, would be an allowable use. He said he had written a letter to the Douglas County Hearings Examiner from his perspective as Mayor and as chairman of the Wenatchee Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau supporting the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval owners proposal allowing the facility to be used for concerts. Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Nash, second by Councilmember Aiken to include Councilmembers endorsement on the letter supporting the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval owners proposal allowing the facility to be used for concerts. The motion carried, 7-0. Mayor Lacy said the Chambers in Chelan and Douglas Counties will be holding an Economic Summit Thursday, May 31, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Wenatchee Convention Center to discuss what economic issues are affecting business in Chelan and Douglas Counties and what can be done. Mayor Lacy said he had just received a final draft of the Interlocal Agreement between the City of East Wenatchee and Douglas County regarding annexation delivery services and revenue sharing. He added the interlocal agreement would be included on the next City Council meeting agenda. CONSENT CALENDAR Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember Aiken, second by Councilmember Hendricks to approve the consent calendar as presented. The motion carried, 7-0. 1.
