PUBLIC COMMENTS
Kimberly and Hope Schooley, 1119 Parkroy PI, East Wenatchee, expressed their concerns regarding the
Council vote tonight on Ordinance No. 2014-01. She applauded Councilmember Raab's view on the
matter, and said she shares his concern. Ms. Schooley said she is a former local Police Officer and has
seen first-hand the detrimental outcomes and devastation marijuana causes. She urged Councilmembers
to carefully consider the greater threat when making their decision tonight, and asked them to uphold the
desires of the majority of our constituents of our community by voting no.
Kristin Burnham, Business owner at 101 11`" St NE, East Wenatchee, stated she has had continuous
trouble with visitors frequenting the tobacco store next door to her business that are smoking and loitering
on their front steps. She said she was unaware how far marijuana has come until she read an article in the
newspaper about the matter and is concerned for their business, and the community. She hopes nothing
gets done without more information being put out into the community.
Farzan Farizar, Real estate services for Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), was
present and prepared to answer any questions Council may have regarding a proposal for the purchase and
sale of property near the SR 285 Interchange. Mr. Farizar asked the City Council to go forward with the
proposal and close the transaction.
