CITY OF EAST WENATCHEE COUNCIL MINUTES APRIL 9, 2013
ORDINANCE NO.2013-01
An Ordinance of the City of East Wenatchee, Washington, amending the East
Wenatchee Municipal Code in sections 10.08.010, 10.08.130, and adding a new
section 10.08.125 pertaining to parking and loading zone restrictions, containing a
severability clause, and establishing an effective date.
Councilmember Johnson gave an update on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee and Technical
Advisory Committee meetings he attended on behalf of the City of East Wenatchee. He also noted that he
has been lobbying with Municipal Research Services Center (MRSC) for the State to give back the
monies from the Liquor Tax that used to go to Cities and Counties, noting that 90% of MRSC funding
comes from those funds. He encouraged Councihnembers to contact City Attorney Poulson to discuss
how useful the service is to Cities and Counties, as he is concerned we may lose this valuable service.
Councilmember Detering said he attended the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Gesa Credit Union.
Councilmember McCourt submitted a handout from the Homeless Steering Force meeting she attended
on April 9, 2013, in which they are developing a Homeless Plan Strategy. Community Development
Director Lori Barnett noted that the funds for the Homeless Housing Assistance come from fees paid to
the County Auditor's for recording documents. She added there is an Interlocal Agreement with Douglas
County, City of Wenatchee, and Chelan County in which the funds are pooled from, and then given to
Wenatchee, as the Lead Agency, to go through the award process.
