MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Lacy reported that the senate bill regarding the Town Toyota Center has not yet passed.
Mayor Lacy said the Wenatchee Valley Sister City Association has approved a delegation that includes
10 adults and 10 students to go to Misawa, Japan in August. He said in past years there has always been
someone delegated that guides the delegation on trains and tours, and this year we do not have anyone to
do that. He suggested the Council consider paying David Kelts to lead the delegation this year and have
the City pay for his trip.
Council Action: A motion was made by Councilmember McCourt, second by Councilmember Johnson
to pay David Kelts' way to Misawa, Japan in exchange for him guiding the delegation. The motion
carried, 6-0.
' Mayor Lacy said Friday, March 91h has been set for conducting a Council Retreat at the Wild Card Sports
Bar and Grill commencing at 9:00 a.m. and concluding in the afternoon. He said that a policy should be
established to pay for the lunch expense and asked Council if they would consider approving this expense
and finalizing the policy at the next scheduled Council meeting. Council agreed by consensus to approve
the expense.
