PUBLIC COMMENTS
Roger Clute, 1803 Aspen Creek Lane, Wenatchee, former Director of the Wenatchee Valley Visitors
Bureau (WVVB) said he had listened to the transcript of the last Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
(LTAC) meeting and he wanted the East Wenatchee City Council to know that he agreed with all
comments made by Mayor Lacy at that meeting. He added that he believes the Wenatchee LTAC group is
flawed and they are trying to take control of the hotel/motel tax dollars and therefore reduce the
effectiveness of or maybe even eliminate the WVVB. He expressed the importance of marketing the
Valley as a whole with enormous opportunities.
Marcia Janke, 3025 NE Vine Street, East Wenatchee, employed with the WVVB shared an email from
Sports Council Director Matt Kearny which expressed the need for better communication and
understanding of the current role of the WVVB; communication between the WVVB and other entities;
and marketing and activities that have been to maximize opportunities for exposure that will bring
tourism dollars to the valley.
Wendy LeSesne, 217 Peters Street W, Wenatchee, Interim Director Wenatchee Valley Visitors Bureau,
thanked Mayor Lacy for his comments at the LTAC meeting. She also expressed the need to market the
valley as a whole.

Mayor Lacy reminded the Budget Committee that they would meet immediately following the City
