MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Lacy said he would be meeting with Mr. Sullivan on Thursday regarding the East
Wenatchee Community Center. Mayor Lacy said that if this project does not work he would like
to see the City move forward with annexation. He said Council would need to decide on the
boundaries. He added he would like to annex from the current easterly boundary, east to
Kentucky Avenue to square off the boundaries. He said this would ultimately be decided by the
citizens as it would need to be placed on the ballot for a vote of the people.
Mayor Lacy asked Council to identify if they would be attending the Association of Washington
Cities (AWC) Annual Conference as AWC would like a list of voting delegates prior to the
annual business meeting held during the conference. Councilmember McCourt said she would be
attending the conference.
Mayor Lacy said visibility of Councilmembers is important with the visiting delegates from
Misawa, Japan and asked Council to identify themselves by wearing their City shirts and making
themselves available to attend Classy Chassis and other Apple Blossom activities.
